A cat and mouse game has been started again. The India-Australia clashes are always interesting and a lot of it is the mindgame. The pre-match build up, incidents during the match all add spice.

I happenned to watch the highlights of the first day in the second test and what an amazing day of test cricket it was. Truly gripping, test cricket at its best. Without taking away the credit from India and Gambhir in particular, I would say any team going through the phase that Australian cricket is going through will take time to recover from the losses. India will face the brunt when the fab 4 retire. These are once in a lifetime cricketers and they don't make them everyday.

No doubt, media plays a big part in overdoing it.

Out of sheer curiosity, why does the media not hype the clashes in other sports ? The media needs to play a big part in nurturing other sports and not just worry about the TRP's. Take for example what Vishwanathan Anand is achieving in the field of chess....it is a great achievement and will be a role model for the younger generation. Can we up the ante in other sports - boxing, wrestling, badminton, chess, tennis et all ?

Can we emulate the Chinese mantra for success ? Do we have it in us ?
